Será por el tiempo caluroso y la cercanía de las vacaciones, que no puedo pensar muy claramente, pero se me ocurrió buscar en el sitio oficial de los Guinness World Records, qué registros había con relación a las bibliotecas o los bibliotecarios y esto fue lo único que encontré:
- Largest Library. The Library of Congress, Washington DC, USA, is the largest library in the world. It houses nearly 119 million items on approximately 853 km (530 miles) of bookshelves. The library has around 4,600 employees.
Esperaba algo nuevo e impactante, como la bibliotecaria más vieja del mundo, la sanción más grande asignada por entrega retrazada, la biblioteca más pequeña, el salario más bajo pagado a un documentalista, el usuario con más préstamos, el tesauro más grande, el más pequeño, más cosas como esta:
- Most Books Balanced On Head. On December 9, 1998 at Abbeydale, Sheffield, UK, John Evans balanced a single unsupported column of 62 identical books on his head. They had a total height of 185.4 cm (73 in) and weighed 98.4 kg (217 lb). John Evans began developing his sturdy 60.96-cm (24-in) neck at the age of 18, when he worked on a building site. Since his pay was linked to the amount of bricks laid, it was in his interest to carry as many as possible at one time. John found he could carry the most bricks by literally using his head and balancing them on a special "hod" hat.
Pero parace que tendremos que hacer nuestra propia lista de records bibliotecarios. Mientras tanto podemos buscar algún usuario con buena cabeza para que nuestra biblioteca entre al libro de los Guinness Records.
Hecho curioso: al buscar por la palabra librarian este fue el único resultado que el sitio presentó:

Christa Behmenburg of Germany has 26,457 items relating to mice and rats that she has been collecting since the 1980s.
Es un buen fondo roespecializado :-)

Qué tal estas:
- El OPAC con menos errores
- El bibliotecario de referencia con más respuestas satisfactoriamente atendidas
- El libro con el número Dewey más largo
- El documentos con mayor número de descriptores
Qué otros se les ocurren?

He estado mirando el Guinness World Record y hay una seccion sobre BOOKS & MAGAZINES, vienen suficientes chorradas sobre libros como para calmar las ansias veraniegas de curiosidad libraria:

Se acabaron tus preocupaciones el libro que mas se tardo en devolver, pero no viene la multa.
2. The most overdue library book was returned after 288 years! It was borrowed from a British university library in 1668 and was found elsewhere centuries later. The book was returned but no fine was charged!

1. An original four-volume subscriber set of J. J. Audubon's The Birds of America was auctioned for $8,802,500 (£5,739,000) by Christie's of New York in March 2000.

4. There's a crazy Japanese booked called Chindogu. It means "weird tool" and is full of useless invention, such as tiny dusters that slip onto a cat's paws, so it can clean surfaces as it walks around!
5. In 1991, Millie, US President George Bush's dog, earned $900,000 (£587,000) from her autobiography Millile's Book, an "under the table look at life in the Bush family". President Bush's own biography earned only $2,700 (£1,760)!

Sobre records nos comentaba Miguel Ángel (Enblog) algunos datos curiosos (21 junio). Por ejemplo, el libro impreso mÁs pequeño o la librería en línea más grande..
